Duration15 hours
Sessions5 × 3 hours, weekly
FormatOnline, live · also in-company
Group size4 to 14 people

Who it is for

Salespeople, account managers, consultants, negotiators, customer-facing professionals, and anyone whose results depend on the quality of interpersonal communication. Suited to both B2B and B2C contexts.

Objective

Equip sales professionals with a set of influential communication tools rooted in Neuro-Linguistic Programming — calibration, rapport, language flexibility, precision questioning and ethical reframing — to better understand the client and guide the conversation towards a decision.

Curriculum

  1. 1Foundations and limits3 hours
    • Where NLP came from and what it assumes, applied to commercial communication
    • The map is not the territory: how each client builds their own picture of the problem
    • What the research supports and what it does not — separating the useful tool from the folklore
    • Sensory acuity: training yourself to notice what shifts in the other person
    • Exercise: calibration in pairs, on real accounts
  2. 2Rapport and attunement3 hours
    • What rapport is, and why it comes before any argument
    • Pacing and leading: go with them before you take them anywhere
    • Verbal and non-verbal mirroring — and the mistakes that make it look absurd
    • Rapport by phone and on video: what is lost and how to make up for it
    • Losing rapport: recognising the signal and bringing the conversation back
    • Exercise: simulating a first meeting, with calibration and adjustment
  3. 3The client's language3 hours
    • Language patterns and ways of expressing: what you can infer and what you cannot
    • Meta-programmes worth using commercially: toward/away, internal/external reference, general/specific, sameness/difference
    • Matching the pitch to the person in front of you: one product, three different conversations
    • Exercise: rewriting your own pitch for three distinct profiles
  4. 4Language of influence3 hours
    • The meta-model: precision questions that undo generalisation, omission and distortion
    • Linguistic presuppositions and how to use them honestly to steer a conversation
    • Storytelling and commercial metaphor: the case that persuades without arguing
    • Anchoring: managing your own state before a high-pressure meeting
    • Exercise: building a sequence of precision questions for a live deal
  5. 5Objections, reframing and ethics3 hours
    • Reframing content and context, applied to the objections you hear most
    • The price objection: changing the frame without changing the value
    • Handling deadlock and rejection
    • The ethics of influence: where effective communication ends and manipulation begins — and why the second one destroys a client base
    • Exercise: an integrated simulation and an individual application plan
